Qaumajuq365, the Inuit art centre inaugural year

Northern Lights-inspired display at Qaumajuq.
Starting tonight, we’ll be illuminating the two connected WAG-Qaumajuq buildings. These Northern Lights will continue Sunday-Thursday evenings (6-10pm) this winter and evolve into projections of Inuit imagery closer to the opening of Qaumajuq in early 2021. The launch date of Qaumajuq will be announced after code red restrictions are lifted in Manitoba…stay tuned! In the meantime, come check out the lights and peek inside from the street to the Visible Vault!
The meaning of Qaumajuq is “it is bright, it is lit” in Inuktitut, inspired by the light that pours into the new building designed to reflect the forms, land, and light of the North. This theme of light will carry through a year of celebrations! Watch our website for all the ways you can take part – virtually and in person when it’s safe.
Thank you for your support and we can’t wait to come together with you in this inspiring new space.
Big thanks to Eventlight.ca for installing our Northern Lights!

The Quauajuc are on “most” nights?
What nights?
Hi Ian, the light display is on every night from 5-10pm, with the exception of a few one-offs when the lights will be off for construction or exhibition install purposes, but those instances won’t occur too frequently! Hope you enjoy the display!
