Biannual Art in Bloom Returns to WAG-Qaumajuq April 19-21
A welcome feast for the senses celebrating spring!
Winnipeg, Manitoba, April 11, 2024: Art in Bloom takes over the Winnipeg Art Gallery (WAG)-Qaumajuq next week, April 19-21 with a Preview Party on April 18. This festival of spring, art, and creativity welcomes the community to enjoy the colours and scents of the season through an exhibition of art and fresh flowers, hands-on workshops, and more.
Presented by the Associates of the WAG with Master Partner Petals West, Art in Bloom features a vibrant show of floral designs alongside the artwork that inspires them.
Main Event:
- Art in Bloom takes place Friday, April 19 (11am-9pm), and Saturday and Sunday, April 20 and 21 (11am-5pm).
- 109 professional and amateur florists will interpret 94 artworks in the WAG-Qaumajuq collection, filling the galleries with fresh flowers.
- Entry is included in your Gallery admission price: adults $18, seniors/students $15, FREE for kids under 18 and WAG members.
- Flowers from the event will be re-purposed for delivery to healthcare centres, hospitals, and personal care homes through Floral Philanthropy and their partnership with CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
- Art in Bloom is brought to you by the Associates of the WAG, who work tirelessly to advance WAG-Qaumajuq’s mission through fundraising, volunteerism, and community outreach.
Preview Party:
- A special preview party will take place April 18 from 7-9:30pm, doors open at 6:30pm.
- Enjoy cocktails, light bites, a floral experience led by Florence Botanicals, and jazz piano by Ron Paley in the company of the 2024 Art in Bloom Floral Interpreters.

Workshops:
- Throughout the weekend the public can learn to make their own floral arrangements or elevate their skills through a series of workshops with Floral Fixx Design Studio.
- Enroll the family in a kid’s class, learn the art of Ikebana, or practice making the perfect floral centerpiece.
- All supplies are provided for participants to make and bring home their floral creations.
- While some workshops are sold out, spots in several of these fun and informal workshops are still available for registration at wag.ca/bloom.
