InstructorGabrielle Funk
Gabrielle Funk is a Winnipeg-based visual artist, muralist and community art facilitator. She specializes in realism using two-dimensional mediums such as acrylic, watercolour and ink. Her work often amalgamates symbols related to themes of nature and mythology and the feminine experience. During the school year Gabrielle’s illustrations are published weekly in The Uniter Urban Journal. Furthermore, various works of her public art can be found in locations around Winnipeg. In addition to her studio practice and her work with the WAG, Gabrielle works as a freelance art instructor and program coordinator for Art City Inc.
Gabrielle is passionate about exploring the ways in which creativity can be used as a method to learn about the self, build confidence and strengthen communities. She believes that there is an artist inside of everyone and loves helping people discover and explore those aspects of themselves.
