Digital Media Administrator

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager of Engagement, the Digital Media Administrator plays a central role in coordinating and supporting the Gallery’s communications and outreach strategy. The Digital Media Administrator is responsible for maintaining the Gallery’s online presence by sourcing and drafting content for the website, social media, enews, digital ads, and external listings. The position is part of the Gallery’s Engagement team and works closely with several departments to share public programming and behind-the-scenes content to build new audiences and connect directly to the WAG-Qaumajuq community.

Salary:
$40,422 with benefits

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support all aspects of the engagement strategy, including project management, asset sourcing, and coordination with designers, other departments, and external stakeholders.
  • Source and draft content for the WAG-Qaumajuq website and social media channels.
  • Plan and implement online search and display advertising.
  • Maintain external digital listings.
  • Follow emerging trends and technologies to identify opportunities to better engage with our audiences.
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries and comments on social media, website, and e-newsletters.
  • Plan and schedule the social media calendar following the Gallery’s communications guidelines.
  • Capture key WAG-Qaumajuq events for social media.
  • Draft, prepare, and distribute monthly e-newsletter and periodical eblasts.
  • Work with photographers and designers to gather great images and creative materials for digital applications.
  • Work with collections to collect artwork images and confirm clearances for digital applications.
  • Make recommendations for digital advertising investments for the department budget.
  • Some monitoring of social media outside of regular business hours through flexible scheduling.
  • Ongoing performance expectations relating to equity and anti-racism, including ongoing education, confrontation of personal biases, application of the anti-racism policy and equitable decision-making.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree.
  • Minimum two years direct experience in digital marketing working directly with social media platforms and with WordPress.
  • Experience planning and implementing successful online advertising campaigns, including search, display, and social media.
  • Excellent writing and photography skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under time constraints.
  • Ability to work independently using discretion and diplomacy under pressure.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Interest and enthusiasm to work in digital marketing and the arts.
  • Flexible work schedule.
  • Experience with Sprout Social, Basecamp, Later or similar social media and project management programs an asset.
