Janet Carroll is a Winnipeg book artist and paper marbler. She began marbling in 1977, studying with Don Guyot in Seattle. She studied bookbinding with Barbara Mauriello at the New York Center for Book Arts, and in London, UK, with Jen Lindsay at the Roehampton Institute. Her marbling is represented in the Norma Rubovitz Marbled Paper Collection at the Newberry Library, Chicago. She has participated in exhibitions across Canada and in Japan sponsored by the Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild. She has also exhibited her handmade books in Ireland, Finland and the U.S. She received a Manitoba Arts Council Grant in 1996 and served as a Bookbinder-in-Residence at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts in 2000. She teaches workshops for adults and children in Winnipeg and elsewhere.
