Making art classes accessible has always been a key pillar of WAG-Qaumajuq. Our Studio Course Fee Assistance Program aims to expand access to art classes, regardless of family income. Thanks to generous support from the Graham C. Lount Family Foundation, we are pleased to offer subsidized classes to those who are unable to pay the full course fee.

Complete the online application form below to apply.

  • Applications are submitted through the online form below. The application shall indicate the applicant’s parent, guardian, or legal representative, when applicable.
  • Upon request, the WAG will provide other formats or reasonable accommodations in the application process. What constitutes a reasonable accommodation will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
  • Applications should be submitted before registration opens.
  • Applications for minors must be submitted by a parent/guardian.
  • Program space and availability are not guaranteed for approved subsidy applications. Program space is on a first-come, first-serve registration basis.
  • The subsidy is intended to be applied towards WAG Studio programming.
  • Subsidies only cover the course fees. Adult students are responsible for providing their own supplies.
  • The subsidy is not transferrable, has no cash value, and will expire if not used.
  • Approved applicants are expected to attend a minimum of 70% of classes. Failure to do so may result in denial of future subsidy.
  • Requests will be reviewed in a reasonable timeframe.
  • WAG-Qaumajuq reserves the right to:
    • request additional supporting documents if deemed necessary.
    • deny applications that are incomplete or not supported by sufficient evidence.
  • In the event a request is denied due to being incomplete or not supported by sufficient evidence, the applicant will be communicated which reasons led to it.
    • Within 15 days of the communication mentioned above applicants will have the opportunity to provide additional information or documents and submit a reconsideration request.
    • Within 15 days of the reconsideration decision, applicants may submit an appeal request to the Head of Education & Public Programs.
  • Funding is limited, and applications are not guaranteed to be approved.
  • If a subsidy is denied due to lack of funds, the WAG may offer the applicant the same or a reduced subsidy for another intake or art class, when applicable. If the previous application was based on financial grounds or additional needs, the applicant should indicate whether those conditions persist.
  • Classes or instructors may be subject to change without notice.
  • In the event of cancellation due to low registration, the applicant will be issued a refund for the percentage they paid.
  • Refunds will only be issued if notification of withdrawal is received five working days before the first day of the class or workshop.
  • Refunds will not be issued after classes commence except for medical reasons (doctor’s note required).
