Many families, businesses and individuals from across the country and around the globe have contributed to the centre’s building campaign and programming fund. We need your support to secure the final $10-million in funding.
This incredible centre will be a legacy to inspire and engage generations to come. Art is a Voice that connects and transforms. You can be part of this transformation.
Celebrating a World-Renowned Collection of Art One Story at a Time.
You can help build Qaumajuq (Inuit art centre)—your contribution will be matched by the Government of Manitoba.
Adopt a Shelf in Qaumajuq’s Visible Vault
Art is a voice that invites a response. When you enter Qaumajuq, you will be met by a three-story glass vault showcasing thousands of carvings from the world’s largest public collection of contemporary Inuit art. By adding your name, you can help build Qaumajuq.

Construction Timeline
Jan 2020
The building is now closed in and protected from the elements. The composition of the outside walls of Qaumajuq have been completed, with the stone to be installed in the spring, the roof is finished and the insulation is almost done. Inside the building, the steel structural support of the three-story visible vault is now complete.
Oct 2020
The new name of the Inuit art centre is revealed: Qaumajuq (pronounced KOW-ma-yourq or HOW-ma-yourk), meaning “it is bright, it is lit” in Inuktitut. Watch the naming ceremony.
Thank You!
We thank the supporters who are building the world’s first Inuit art centre – Qaumajuq.
