Swing Soniq Heads WAG’s Jazz on the Rooftop Concert

Swing Soniq is a vibrant, all-acoustic blend of three amazing musical talents—Greg Leskiw, Brent Parkin, Gilles Fournier—who celebrate the sounds of yesteryear with their own version of contemporary jazz-swing, putting them into the upper echelons of the Canadian music scene.

A former member of The Guess Who, Swing Soniq leader Greg Leskiw toured Canada, the U.S., and Europe with them, performing for Britain’s Royal Family and at the White House. He shared in their gold album and Juno awards for Share the Land, So Long Bannatyne, and Rockin’, and a platinum album award for Best of The Guess Who (Vol.1). In the mid-80s Greg’s focus changed from performing live to recording and music production when opened Vox Pop Studios which recorded the Crash Test Dummies, The Blue Meanies, and his own group Mood Jga Jga. In 1997 Leskiw formed Swing Soniq, dedicated to the feel and style of the music of the 30s and 40s. The group has also developed innovative arrangements of their own compositions.
