WAG Premium Membership Program Gives Access to Arts and Culture Across North America

The Winnipeg Art Gallery is introducing a Premium Membership that offers WAG members free/discounted admission to over 535 museums across North America. The WAG now has the gold NARM designation (North American Reciprocal Museum) which offers travelers opportunities to experience art and culture beyond Manitoba’s borders.

Travelers can rest easy knowing they can visit the best museums and galleries in North America with the same member benefits, such as admission discounts at gift shops and restaurants, and special pricing on blockbuster or limited-time exhibitions.

“We were surprised at how easy it was to use our Premium Membership,” says Pat McCullough, an artist and long-time WAG member. “It gave us free entry and discounts to the museums we visited... We would highly recommend a Premium Membership; we had a wonderful trip visiting art museums and it saved us a lot of money when we travelled to the U.S. over the winter holidays.”

For those travelling anywhere in North America, a WAG Premium membership is a passport to world-class museums like The Frick Collection in New York City, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Ottawa, and the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto.

Premium Membership is available in two categories: Premium Individual ($100) and Premium Family ($150), and is valid for one year from the month of purchase. For a listing of all the benefits of Premium membership visit wag.ca/member-benefits, which includes a link to the NARM list.
Celebrating its centenary from September 2012 to August 2013, the Winnipeg Art Gallery is Canada’s oldest civic art gallery and Manitoba’s leading visual arts institution. With a collection of over 25,000 objects spanning over ten centuries—including the world’s largest collection of contemporary Inuit art—the WAG constantly moves between the historical and the contemporary, engaging a growing public with the power of art in our lives.
