New November Dates for Canada Life Free Sunday @ WAG-Qaumajuq
Free access to art, culture, and programming for families takes place every month at the Gallery
Winnipeg, Manitoba, October 29, 2024: The Winnipeg Art Gallery (WAG)-Qaumajuq is proud to partner with Canada Life on the successful Canada Life Free Sundays @ WAG-Qaumajuq program. This initiative offers free admission to the Gallery and special programming on one Sunday every month. In its four years, the program has welcomed over 28,000 visitors.
Traditionally held on the second Sunday of each month, Canada Life Free Sundays in November 2024 and 2025 will shift to the first Sunday of the month, due to other programming at the Gallery and in the downtown area. The new dates to note are November 3, 2024, and November 2, 2025. Canada Life Free Sundays @ WAG-Qaumajuq continues as usual on the second Sunday of the month otherwise.
Renewed for three more years in February 2023, Canada Life Free Sundays will continue at WAG-Qaumajuq until 2026. On Free Sundays, visitors can explore the exhibitions on view and take part in themed programming for all ages.
Join us on November 3, when our trained guides will teach the art of creating mandalas, inspired by Lita Fontaine’s exhibition, Winyan. Participants will explore the meditative and healing aspects of the repetitive motions involved in creating mandalas. This month, we’re also launching our Indigenous Games Series as part of Canada Life Free Sundays @ WAG-Qaumajuq. Our guides will teach and play traditional Indigenous games in Main Hall, starting with Big Hoop. We hope to see you there!
As always, thanks to Canada Life, free public parking is available in the Canada Life parking lot behind 100 Osborne Street North for visitors on Canada Life Free Sundays @ WAG-Qaumajuq. Downtown street parking is free on Sundays and several bus routes service Portage Avenue and Colony Street as well as Portage Avenue and Vaughan Street.
