Canada Life Free Sundays@WAG-Qaumajuq Renewed for Three More Years

Free admission and family programming continue on the second Sunday of every month

Winnipeg, Manitoba, February 3, 2026: The Winnipeg Art Gallery (WAG)-Qaumajuq is pleased to announce that Canada Life Free Sundays@WAG-Qaumajuq will continue for another three years, through 2028. Since the program began, over 40,000 people have enjoyed free admission and participated in creative programming at the Gallery.

Held on the second Sunday of every month, Canada Life Free Sundays offer free access to art, culture, and hands-on activities for visitors of all ages. Canada Life’s long-standing partnership with the Gallery reflects a shared commitment to building stronger, more connected communities by helping remove financial barriers and creating opportunities for people to come together through the power of art.

Quick Facts:

  • Canada Life Free Sundays@WAG-Qaumajuq take place on the second Sunday of every month, with one exception if the date coincides with CRAFTED weekend in November.
  • Save the dates for 2026 Canada Life Free Sundays@WAG-Qaumajuq: February 8, March 8, April 12, May 10, June 14, July 12, August 9, September 13, October 11, November 15 (third Sunday), December 13.
  • WAG-Qaumajuq is open Sundays from 11am to 5pm.
  • From 2pm until 4pm, visitors can enjoy complimentary activities for the whole family, such as games, art making, tours, films, and performances.
  • On February 8, Black History Month programming includes THREADS A Fashion Show, hosted by Black Artists Winnipeg, themed art-making activities, and English and French drop-in tours.
  • Later this season on March 8, Canada Life Free Sunday will centre on Metis artist Carrie Allison’s exhibition, we tend to care, featuring a guided meditative drawing exercise based on sound. April’s Free Sunday will welcome spring and feature a wildlife mobile-making station.
  • Free public parking is available in the Canada Life parking lot behind 100 Osborne St. N. for visitors on Canada Life Free Sundays@WAG-Qaumajuq.
  • Downtown street parking is free on Sundays, and several bus routes service Portage Avenue & Colony Street as well as Portage Avenue & Vaughn Street.
