ClayMaker: Necklaces

Ceramic artist Crystal Nykoluk will guide you through creating two styles of necklaces out of clay.  Once you’ve perfected your shapes (cylinder and slab), you’ll use glaze techniques to adorn your clay leaving you with a unique piece of wearable art.  The two necklaces you create will be fired by us, attached to a stainless steel chain or leather cord, and will be available for pick up two weeks after the class.

$70/ticket; $65 for WAG members or 2+ tickets

MakerLab: Beaded Plant Hanger with Kate & Norah Co.

Learn how to make your own beaded plant hanger. Join us in hosting Jenni Robins, owner and creator of Kate + Norah Co., for an evening workshop where you will learn how to make one of her popular beaded hangers. Discussions of plant care and ideal plants for your creation will also be covered. You'll end the evening with a completed plant hanger, knowledge of how to make more for your own urban jungle, as well as some plant care tips.

MakerLab: Woven Wall Hangings with Le Petit Point

Using  a lap loom frame, you’ll create your own hand-woven wall hanging. Using various textures of wool and roving, you’ll learn how to warp your loom and weave using several techniques. The end result is a beautiful woven piece of art to hang in your home that plays with geometry, colour, and texture.

Make your own mermaid with textiles artist Charlotte Sigurdson from Charlotte’s Dollhouse! You will learn how to assemble and customize an 18” mermaid doll using some basic sewing skills and your beautiful imagination. WAG Studio offers many ways to explore your creativity with beginner and intermediate courses in a variety of media. Unless otherwise indicated, adults provide their own tools and supplies for classes. Students in beginner courses will be given materials for the first class, while those in intermediate courses should bring their own selection. Supply lists are handed out on the first day of class. For special workshops, materials are generally included in the class cost.
