ClayMaker: Hanging Planters

Using the pinch pot method, ceramic artist Crystal Nykoluk will guide you through the creation of two styles of planters out of clay. Using glaze and slip to adorn the pot, these planters will absorb water, helping to prevent root rot! Fired planters will be available for pick up two weeks after the class.

Paint Party @ WAG Studio

Paint Party: Mini Balsa Trees

Don’t have room for a real tree, or can’t keep a succulent alive? We got you! At this Paint Party, you’ll create minimalist trees, or cacti using nothing but a sheet of balsa wood and an exacto knife. We’ll provide templates of your choosing (tree or cactus), you cut it out, add a bit of paint, and simply slide your shapes together to create your new DIY decor. Artist and Learning & Programs Coordinator, Cara Mason will be with you every step of the way to ensure your cuts are clean, and your piece is perfect!

Ages 18+ • Cash bar, music, painting, and fun! No experience required.

10 week session

WAG Studio offers many ways to explore your creativity with beginner and intermediate courses in a variety of media. Unless otherwise indicated, adults provide their own tools and supplies for classes. Students in beginner courses will be given materials for the first class, while those in intermediate courses should bring their own selection. Supply lists are handed out on the first day of class. For special workshops, materials are generally included in the class cost.

Drawing Basics

For students with little or no drawing experience, this introduction to the fundamental techniques and concepts of drawing will sharpen observational skills and build confidence. Practice translating what you see into what you draw as you work with different subjects, including still life studies and the human form.
