5:00pm - 9:00pm

Experience an unforgettable evening where sound, form, and color collide. Join acclaimed local vocalist Karly Epp, JUNO-winning bassist Karl Kohut, and celebrated Brazilian guitarist, Emmanuel Bach, for an intimate jazz performance in the Gallery’s Main Hall.

Inspired by the bold colors, rhythmic geometry, and striking compositions of Chromatic Structures, this special concert responds to the exhibition’s exploration of Canadian hard-edge and post-painterly abstraction from the 1970s through the late 1980s. Featuring monumental works by Robert Sakowski alongside a vibrant painting by Paul Hutner, the exhibition reveals abstraction as a powerful language of color, space, and visual rhythm.

Surrounded by these remarkable paintings, enjoy an evening of exceptional live jazz as the musicians transform the energy of the artwork into sound, creating a truly one-of-a-kind experience.
