We’re excited to present two new collaborations that come from friendships forged over the years at CRAFTED: Show + Sale!

ShopWAG will host a trunk show featuring artists Karen Schmidt Humiski Studio, i-co globes, and Brook Drabot Glass!

Messages within Our Nature, a collection by Schmidt Humiski and Ande Brown of i-co globes, fuses jewellery and metalsmithing with geometric shapes and travel.

Brook Drabot Glass and Karen Schmidt Huminksi Studio have also teamed up to design unique jewellery that incorporates hand blown glass beads. See the collaborative projects September 23!

Karen Schmidt Humiski x Ande Brown Collaboration

“We met at CRAFTED 2021 as our tables where next to each other at the show. That proximity led to an introduction; questions led to an exchange of ideas, and that connection led to the collaboration. The best relationships in art or life start organically and genuinely, showing interest in others and being curious.

We didn’t know exactly what we wanted to create or where it would go, but sometimes that’s the best part. When you’re open to any and all possibilities the results and choices are endless. Art is not making beauty, beauty emerges from selection, kinships, integration, and love.

What our collection Messages within Our Nature is about. The world is a vast container of thoughts, meanings, ideas, and messages of which we each make our own interpretations. When we are open to an idea, other ideas emerge. As you look deeper into the messages from nature you find new meanings, one more beautiful than the next.” ~ Ande Brown

Karen Schmidt Humiski x Brook Drabot Collaboration

“We met through CRAFTED at the WAG a few years ago. I’ve always loved the art of glass blowing and especially the works created by Brook. I approached Brook about the idea I had of her creating hand blown glass balls and beads for use in my jewellery design. Ideas quickly fell into place and the project was on.

We are working through the design process as we move towards the show date of September 23. We continue to discuss and exchange design details. Brook is creating beads as we move forward which means it is a glorious work in process – so many ideas. As artists, we do not stop designing, creating and problem solving until the very last minute. We are curious and excited to see the results just as we hope you are.” ~ Karen Schmidt Humiski
