On Now
Your permanent collection is back on view! Revisit old favourites from our European & Canadian collections, plus a few lesser-seen works.

With the Qaumajuq construction now complete, over the next year, works from the WAG’s permanent collection will be returning to the galleries, beginning in October with the installation in Galleries 1 and 2 of European and Canadian paintings from 1500 to 1900. This will be followed in November with a selection of works dating from 1900 to 1950 in Gallery 4.

Featured in the Gallery 1 presentation will be five outstanding 17th century Dutch and German paintings on loan from a private collection, including works by Pieter Brueghel the Younger, Jan Davidsz de Heem, and Jan Steen. Sculpture, furniture, and decorative arts will be added to these installations later in the year.
