Celebrate the opening of Dominique Rey’s MOTHERGROUND featuring Madeleine and Auguste Coar!

On Friday, October 11, join us in the Main Hall for the public opening of MOTHERGROUND, a captivating solo survey showcasing the innovative work of Franco-Manitoban artist, Dominique Rey with Madeleine and Auguste Coar.

This exhibition offers a profound exploration into the intricate emotional and cultural landscapes of motherhood, inviting viewers to engage with a multi-faceted visual dialogue—from intimate, small-scale photographs to expansive photo collages, human-scale sculptures, and evocative video installations. Each piece serves as a lens through which we can examine the rich tapestry of experiences that define motherhood, blending personal reflections with universal themes.

The celebration will feature remarks from artist Dominique Rey, exhibition curator Dr. Riva Symko, and live music by Francophone artist Kelly Bado. Enjoy the cash bar, plus remarks from Dr. Stephen Borys, WAG-Qaumajuq Director & CEO and other special guests. Afterwards, we invite you to explore the exhibition for FREE!
