For students that have taken pottery previously and are ready to move onto more advanced techniques.

In addition to working on the wheel, you will also learn shaping, glazing, and decorating techniques to finish your work and develop your own ideas related to functional and non-functional forms.

Please note there will be no class on Mar 12 to allow clay to dry for final bisque firing.

Charlene Brown

Charlene Brown is a Winnipeg based multi-media artist and instructor and avid gardener. Clayhaus Studio is home to her artistic practice and where she teaches art classes.

She has a long history of teaching art all around Manitoba through The Winnipeg Art Gallery, Artist in the Schools residencies, Clayhaus Studio and many community collaborations. Presently she is teaching at Red River Community College. Her work has been showcased in solo and group exhibitions locally and internationally. She enjoys creating sculptural works, many of which have found their way into private collections.

Her sculpture is described as fluid and organic and is influenced by the simple beauty of nature. Through the use of symbolism she tries to capture the human condition in various stages of life. To view samples of her work you can visit the gallery section.
