Love reading comics and drawing? This graphic novel class allows students to explore the art of storytelling through illustration.

Students will develop their unique skills in sketching, storyboarding, creating characters and the worlds they live in, and put their ideas on paper. Students will produce their own graphic novel or zine for personal or portfolio use.

Instructor

Natalie Mark

Natalie 麥月明 is an illustrator and cartoonist based in Winnipeg. Their work ranges from illustration, public programming, small press/self published comics, and installation. In addition to their illustrative practice, they have co-created an installation at Pride Toronto’s street fair; facilitated workshops; and created video work for Reel Asian International Film Festival. They have been experimenting with tiny narrative games and regularly make zines about their feelings. When they are not drawing, Natalie loves going to their local library and playing indie table top games.
