Frida Kahlo is a phenomenon. Arguably the world’s most beloved female artist, she continues to captivate audiences across generations. This award-winning film—first released to limited audiences during COVID—is back by popular demand, now featuring new footage from the landmark exhibition Frida: The Making of an Icon at Tate Modern and MFA Houston.
Visually rich and deeply engaging, the film brings Kahlo’s original works to the screen while highlighting contemporary artists and communities inspired by her legacy. Through themes of identity, gender, and politics, it reveals not only who Frida was, but why she remains so relevant today.
