Ages 9-11
This course gives an introduction to basic techniques and fundamental concepts that artists use to create successful drawings and paintings.

Students will build observational skills, use their imaginations, and visit WAG exhibitions.

There will be no classes on May 19.

Courtney Davis

Courtney is a passionate artist and visual arts educator  who believes visual arts education should be accessible, enjoyable, and engaging for all. She has been teaching young artists for the past 10 years and graduated from Lakehead University (Thunder Bay, ON) in 2019 with her Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts – majoring in Ceramics and Drawing as well as her Bachelor of Education. For the past year and a half, Courtney worked as the Education Coordinator for the Thunder Bay Art Gallery, giving her the opportunity to share her love for art and art history with hundreds of students (K-12) every week. With a background in theatre and a love for all things Impressionism, Courtney looks forward to sharing her knowledge and creativity with everyone.
