In order to help ensure the comfort and safety of all visitors and staff, the WAG has a mandatory face covering policy in place. We ask that all guests aged 5 and older wear a mask, scarf, or bandana that covers the nose and mouth while in public spaces at the Gallery.

As per our reopening protocols, we encourage physical distancing, tables/chairs/supplies are sanitized frequently, and all staff and patrons are asked to self-screen before coming.

You can read more about our safety measures here.

Michelle Moulson

Art has been a part of Michelle Moulson’s life for as long as she can remember. The daughter of a Commercial Art graduate and the granddaughter of a self-taught landscape artist, Michelle was always making and creating things she found around the house while growing up on her grandparents’ farm outside of Alonsa, Manitoba. She credits those early years in rural Manitoba, turning household items into works of art, as having shaped her growth as an artist, and the person she is today.

Michelle has nurtured her passion for the arts through a combination of formal training, and self-study. She is a graduate of the Prairieview School of Photography (2013), and a graduate, with honours, of the Graphics Communications program at Red River College (2021), which she considers one of her proudest accomplishments to date. She has also helped organize an art show, and exhibited her own pieces, at the Medea Gallery, and photographed the Winnipeg Blue Bombers during their final season at the Canad Inns Stadium.

Michelle primarily works with watercolours, acrylics, mixed media, foraged plastic, photography, and graphic design. Sustainability, the environment, and our connections to the earth and to each another, inform her work.

Her “ah-ha” moment came during her studies at Red River College while enrolled in a course on children’s book illustrations – and she’s now currently working on writing and illustrating her first book.

When she’s not photographing, you can find Michelle furthering her own creative pursuits in her home studio in Wolseley.
