+ Friday Aug 14 (ADD-ON OPTION)
6:00pm - 8:00pm
Afterwards, we’ll dry, bisque, glaze with clear, and fire your charms. This process usually takes about 3 weeks. Participants will be contacted when their charms are ready for pick up.
Those that choose the add-on option will be invited back on August 14th from 6-7pm, and receive the materials and necessary instructions to create their magnets, croc charms, or necklace.
Please note, we guarantee the class and experience, but not the end product. Sometimes pottery breaks or cracks in the kiln, or a glaze may not appear as expected. Whilst all due care is taken with the pieces created, we cannot take responsibility for the unpredictable whims of the kiln.
All materials, tools, firing, and instruction are included. No experience required. Ages 16+.
Attend with a friend and save $5 on each ticket! Enter the coupon code CLAYMATE at checkout to receive this discount. Your cart must contain 2 or more tickets for the coupon code to apply. Cannot be combined with any other discounts, or retroactively applied.
Please check our WAG Studio Policies & Procedures page for additional information on the studio and read our “Refunds & Cancelations” policy prior to registering!
Sage Wednesday
Sage Wednesday (they/them/it) is a queer, transgender ceramic artist based in Winnipeg, MB. They have completed their BFA with a focus in Ceramics and Printmaking at the University of Manitoba, and are currently completing a Bachelors in Art History at the University of Manitoba.
Wednesday combines graphic illustrations and bright colours with functional ceramics through printmaking on clay. The functional crafted object that exists in the home and daily ritual of the user creates a unique experience that is drastically different than work that exists on the wall. This subversion is paralleled in the imagery Wednesday uses on the surface of their pots, which pulls influence from traditional tattoo illustration, early uses of print media, and visual design elements of underground music culture.
Through its ceramic practice, Wednesday focuses on the creation of community around and through the usage of functional objects.
