11:00am - 5:00pm

Join us on the second Sunday of every month for free admission to WAG-Qaumajuq and more family fun, thanks to Canada Life!

Explore the 185,000-square-foot cultural campus that is WAG-Qaumajuq, including the stunning Visible Vault showcasing thousands of carvings and much more.

In addition to the all-day art activity in the Skylight Gallery, visitors can enjoy a special Beading Workshop led by local Indigenous beadwork artist and WAG-Qaumajuq Education & Programs Administrator, Nikki Schuweiler! Nikki is a talented beadwork artist who is also a gifted and natural educator. In keeping with the Gallery’s commitment to the support and advancement of artists who work hard to deliver the services that our organization provides, we are happy to invite Nikki to share her knowledge and expertise with us. This Beading workshop will be an opportunity to learn, create and share space with community members right here at the gallery. There will be two sessions at 1pm and 3pm with only 8 spots each—first come, first serve.

On this day, there will also be a closing event for Threads of Kin and Belonging: A Trinnipeg Live Mixtape Project at 12pm. Join curators Nestor Wynrush and Julia Lafreniere as they humbly say ‘baamaapii, gigaawaabaamin miinwaa/ Until I see you again’ to the exhibition artwork and the teachings that were brought.
