Create a collection of 2-3 unique bell ornaments, in the style of pine trees and/or mushrooms. These handcrafted ceramic ornaments will add a special touch to your holiday decorations or make wonderful gifts.
You’ll learn the basics of hand-building with slabs and decorate your ornament using underglaze techniques and textures.
Afterwards, we’ll dry, bisque, glaze with white or clear, and fire your piece. This process usually takes about 4 weeks. Participants will be contacted when their piece is completed and ready for pick up. Please note, we guarantee the class and experience, but not the end product. Sometimes pottery breaks or cracks in the kiln, or a glaze may not appear as expected. Whilst all due care is taken with the pieces created, we cannot take responsibility for the unpredictable whims of the kiln.
All materials, tools, firing, and instruction are included. No experience required. Ages 16+.

Crystal is a shaper of earth transforming raw mud into hybrid forms of sculpture and pottery. She uses colourful dripping glazes applied over bark-like texture to show what she sees through her city-living lens; human altered landscapes littered with small flashes of nature. It interests her to see spaces where both of these worlds coexist and magnify each other’s beauty. Crystal creates her work in her home studio in Winnipeg and also works as a Studio Technician at the Winnipeg Art Gallery.
