Opening Doors to New Possibilities

WAG-Qaumajuq needs your help to continue opening doors to meaningful experiences for everyone in the community.

Your support will allow us to bring art, culture, and creativity to life this year, offering opportunities for people of all ages to engage with thought-provoking exhibitions, explore new perspectives, and be transported from the everyday.

From the iconic stone door of the 1971 building—funded by the dedicated efforts of the WAG Associates—to the glass doors of Qaumajuq leading to the visible vault, and the many pathways within, each doorway holds a unique experience. Whether stepping into art classes, event spaces, rotating exhibitions, our permanent galleries, or onto the Rooftop Sculpture Garden with stunning views of the art and the city, every doorway opens to new possibilities.

You can help us meet our $150,000 goal.

One of these remarkable experiences is our latest show, MOTHERGROUND, by acclaimed Winnipeg artist Dominique Rey. This deeply personal exhibition considers the universal theme of motherhood, igniting the child in all of us. In collaboration with her two children, Madeleine and Auguste Coar, Rey uses photography, photo collages, human scale sculptures, and video installations to give you an immersive experience that is both moving and playful.

MOTHERGROUND is designed with our youngest visitors in mind, featuring interactive elements like a child-sized door and a collage maker space that invite kids and families, and the young at heart, to explore the space together. By supporting WAG-Qaumajuq, you ensure that inspiring programs like these remain accessible to everyone, sparking curiosity and fostering creativity all across the community.

Your gift today will open doors and minds at WAG-Qaumajuq.

At WAG-Qaumajuq, we know that art has the power to open hearts and enrich lives. We see this every day. By donating to our end of year campaign, you will allow the Gallery to excel during a period of great change, creating opportunities for people of all ages to discover new perspectives and broaden their horizons.

Join us in making a lasting impact—help us reach our $150,000 goal and keep WAG-Qaumajuq a vibrant, accessible hub of creativity and learning for everyone. Opening doors to new ideas, and opening minds—one visitor at a time.

In 2024, the Gallery had to reduce visiting hours to balance rising costs to operate. Your support now will help keep the doors wide open in the year ahead, ensuring that WAG-Qaumajuq remains a space where minds can be inspired and where community can come together to enjoy the power of art. We need you! Gifts of every size make a difference.

And when you donate $1,000 or more, you are automatically part of the WAG Collectors Circle – an annual program that’s making a critical impact, and gives you special access to behind-the-scenes experiences.

You can donate to WAG-Qaumajuq today for an immediate tax receipt, or please give us a call at 204.789.1764.

The secret doors you will find in MOTHERGROUND: Dominique Rey with Madeleine and Auguste Coar remind us of the doors you open every day with your support of WAG-Qaumajuq. Get a feel for the exhibition in this video with Isaac Brock School.
