Fresh Views

Fresh views are on Portage Avenue! You may have noticed our new billboard display on Portage and Sherbrook featuring works in the WAG-Qaumajuq collection.

On the east side, you’ll see Airplane by Winnipeg’s own Wanda Koop. Watch this video from the early 80’s to hear about Koop’s inspiration for this series.

Travelling westward? Stop and smell the roses with a still life by Balthasar van der Ast!

Both of these artworks were selected by WAG-Qaumajuq Director & CEO, Dr. Stephen Borys and were made possible with the help of Sussex Realty, Outfront Media and Careway Signs.

WAG-Qaumajuq recognizes that land acknowledgements are part of an ongoing dialogue with Indigenous Nations, and we are grateful to live and work on these lands and waters. Institutionally, WAG-Qaumajuq is committed to acknowledging our colonial history and we are actively working to interrogate the Gallery’s colonial ways of being.

WAG-Qaumajuq is LEED certified.
