In August 2021, emerging visual artist and curator, Darcie Bernhardt taught a virtual watercolour workshop, which included the process of creating a watercolour painting using a photo reference.

Darcie Bernhardt

Darcie Bernhardt is an emerging visual artist and curator from Tuktuuyaqtuq (Tuktoyaktuk), NT, based in Halifax, NS. She graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) University in 2019, and also earned a Fine Arts Certificate from the School of Visual Arts at Yukon College in 2013. Bernhardt’s artistic practice primarily focuses on oil painting and drawing various domestic spaces, memories and contemporary life in northern communities. Her work has been exhibited at various venues across Canada including Nuit Blanche 2019 in Montreal, QC, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia as well as the Anna Leonowens Gallery and NSCAD University in Halifax, NS and at the Winnipeg Art Gallery in Manitoba.
