Marketing Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Development & Marketing, the Marketing Supervisor is responsible for the ongoing promotion of the Winnipeg Art Gallery, including the development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies that incorporate advertising, media relations, promotion, social media, event marketing and tourism related activities.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Develop and implement an annual communications plan for the Gallery
  • Identify and implement marketing strategies to build visibility, increase the WAG’s brand awareness, target key audiences and engage stakeholders, while supporting organizational goals
  • Manage production schedule of the Marketing and Communications department
  • Supervise content development and delivery
  • Develop and adhere to the Marketing and Communications department annual budget
  • Liaise with media and the public concerning all Gallery news
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field with an emphasis on marketing and communications or a combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated experience dealing with local and national media
  • Minimum three years’ experience with marketing campaigns, market research, issue management, and tourism
  • Highly organized and a good planner with budget and project management experience
  • Outstanding communication skills including public speaking, proposal writing, and formal presentations

ASSETS:

  • Requires a flexible work schedule to accommodate for Gallery functions that occur outside the normal working week, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Experience in strategic planning and preparing business plans
  • Experience keeping abreast of change in a constantly fluctuating environment
  • Experience managing and training staff
