Many families, businesses and individuals from across the country and around the globe have contributed to the centre’s building campaign and programming fund. Will you consider a gift, if you are able?
Your gift of any size will truly make a difference by helping to ensure WAG-Qaumajuq is here for you and others – for always.
This incredible centre will inspire and engage generations to come. Art is a Voice that connects people, builds bridges of understanding, and brings us together to envision a better future. You can be part of this transformation.
Celebrating a World-Renowned Collection of Art One Story at a Time.
You can help build Qaumajuq
Adopt a Shelf in Qaumajuq’s Visible Vault
The first thing you’ll see when you step inside Qaumajuq is the stunning, three-storey glass vault filled with thousands of Inuit carvings. You can adopt a shelf and be recognized on electronic signages located around the vault, with a message of your choice, and can use the space to honour loved ones, to mark a special occasion, or to show your organization’s support for this community project.

Construction Timeline
Jan 2020
The building is now closed in and protected from the elements. The composition of the outside walls of Qaumajuq have been completed, with the stone to be installed in the spring, the roof is finished and the insulation is almost done. Inside the building, the steel structural support of the three-story visible vault is now complete.
Oct 2020
The new name of the Inuit art centre is revealed: Qaumajuq (pronounced KOW-ma-yourq or HOW-ma-yourk), meaning “it is bright, it is lit” in Inuktitut. Watch the naming ceremony.
Spring 2021
Qaumajuq opened in March 2021 with a two-part virtual celebration seen around the world, followed by several free days for the public to visit in-person. Relive the opening here.
Thank You!
