WAG Announces Bill Elliott as Deputy Director

The Winnipeg Art Gallery announces the appointment of Bill Elliott as Deputy Director. Elliott retains his current responsibilities as Director of Finance & Operations at the WAG and takes on the responsibility of day-to-day operational oversight under the new title.

Under the new appointment, Elliott works to enhance and improve the operational effectiveness and delivery of community programs and outreach.  Ensuring the Gallery continues to improve and impress everyday while allowing the future vision and direction of the Gallery to take shape.

“Bill’s ability to identify and improve operations and process efficiencies is an incredible asset to the WAG,” comments Dr. Stephen Borys, WAG Director & CEO. “He has keen analytical skills that allow him to provide both micro and macro assessments that will serve the WAG well in this position.”

As Deputy Director, Elliott’s purview includes, but is not limited to, the Gallery’s financial planning, capital projects, and three departments.

“It’s a tremendous honour to contribute to the WAG at this pivotal point in its history,” says Elliott. “Every day the WAG engages the people of Winnipeg with the power of ART. Advocating for this experience in a new capacity is a privilege.”

Elliot holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Manitoba Asper School of Business (Finance Specialty, 2008) and a bachelors degree in environmental design, also from the University of Manitoba (2002). He joined the WAG in 2010.
