WAG’s Live on the Rooftop is Back for the Summer

It’s been a long, hard winter and we’re all anxiously waiting for summer. Why? Because the Winnipeg Art Gallery’s Live on the Rooftop is back with everything from opera to jazz to country. Running on selected Thursdays (and one Wednesday) throughout the summer, the concerts include a BBQ from Storm Bistro (extra charge) and a cash bar.

All galleries will be open for viewing during intermission.  Exhibitions include 7: Professional Native Artists Inc. featuring the work of Norval Morriseau, Alex Janvier, Jackson Beardy, Daphne Odjig, Carl Ray, Eddy Cobiness, and Joseph Sanchez.

Tickets are $22 for WAG members and $25 for non-members. The dinner option is $25. Details, including performers’ bios and menus, can be found at wag.ca. Tickets can be purchased at wag.ca or at the WAG’s front desk.

“There is not a better way to enjoy summer in the city than on the WAG rooftop,” says Doren Roberts, Manager, Special Events. “A prairie sunset, a cool breeze wafting through, the splash of the fountain—and terrific music. What more could you want?”

This summer’s line-up is:
• Wed, June 11   Manitoba Opera (held in the Muriel Richardson Auditorium)
• Thurs, June 19   Bad Country
• Thurs, July 3   Keith Price
• Thurs, July 31   Free Ride
