Gallery Shop Presents Show of WAVE Interlake Artists

If you have never had the opportunity to go on the Interlake’s Wave Artists’ Studio Tour, the Gallery Shop at the Winnipeg Art Gallery is bringing the tour to you. Twenty-seven artists from the Wave tour will be featured in the Shop from April 9 to May 4. Wave at the WAG will have an opening reception with the artists on Wednesday, April 9 from 6-9pm. All works are available for sale.

“The Wave Artists’ Studio Tour is the largest studio tour in Manitoba,” says Gallery Shop Manager Sherri Van Went. “Thousands of people throng to the Interlake to visit the artists’ studios, see where the works were created, and learn about the artistic process. Although the Gallery Shop cannot offer the complete experience, we can still feature the works themselves and give people a tempting taste of what they will see on the actual tour.”

Participating artists are Suzanne Barrow, Lorraine Bohn, Fred Casey, Kirk Creed, Sandy Driscoll, Veronica Green, Joanne Gullachsen, Gayle Halliwell, Paul Hammer, Carol Hebert, Olive Hnatiuk, Milli Flaig-Hooper, Heidi Hunter, Matt Jenkins, Alan Lacovetsky, Norm Magnusson, Rosemary Miguez, Raven, H. Rogueraiders, Evelin Richter, Cathy Sutton, Stephanie Sutton, CJ Tennant, Cheryl Tordon, Leverne Tucker, Marlene Vanhelden, and Warren Wenzel.

The WAVE Artists’ Studio Tour is a juried tour, ensuring that visitors experience a unique, behind-the-scenes opportunity to connect with artists in their studios. The 13th annual Wave tour will be held the weekends of June 7-8 and August 30-31 from 10am-6pm.
