Papa Mambo Heat Up the Night at the WAG's Jazz on the Rooftop

WINNIPEG, MB July 14, 2009: Even the sculptures will be dancing on Thursday, July 30 as Papa Mambo heat up the night at The Winnipeg Art Gallery’s Jazz on the Rooftop, held in the WAG's newly restored sculpture garden.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this summer, Papa Mambo has spent years providing high-calibre music and performances on stage, radio, TV, and CD to delighted audiences across Canada. A Latin jazz ensemble made up of 11 of some of Winnipeg's most sought-after musicians, the group is led by the charismatic Rodrigo Muñoz. Their diverse array of jazz-inflected Latin rhythms and progressive musical ideas promises a performance full of hot solos, driving ensemble work, and tempo-shifting dance floor madness. Their second album, Crooked Cha, was released in 2007 at a Jazz on the Rooftop concert.
