Position Title: Learning Facilitator (Casual)

Department: Education & Programs
Reports to: Head of Education & Programs
Classification: Class 3
Location: On-site, Winnipeg, MB
Rate of Pay: $20.21/hour
Hours of Work: Casual, weekdays or weekends as scheduled for tours or programs
Start Date: As soon as possible

Position Summary

Learning Facilitators deliver engaging educational experiences for youth and adult audiences through tours, team teaching, and mentorship in volunteer guide training. At this time, we are prioritizing candidates with lived experience as an Indigenous person on Turtle Island, as well as French speaking candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and adapt learning programs for youth and/or adults.
  • Attend regular training sessions.
  • Research exhibitions to prepare for program delivery.
  • Maintain program resources and materials.
  • Assist in training new facilitators and volunteers.
  • Provide feedback on Education & Programs.
  • Uphold equity and anti-racism principles through ongoing education, bias awareness, and application of organizational policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum two years of post-secondary education in fine art or art history.
  • Minimum two years of experience working with children.
  • Clear Child Abuse Registry check.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

Assets:

  • Lived experience as an Indigenous person on Turtle Island.
  • Belonging to and claimed by an Indigenous Nation.
  • Ability to speak or write an Indigenous language.
  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Knowledge of internet research procedures.
  • Current First Aid certification.
