Security Supervisor

Salary: Starting at $33,800 per year, with benefits 

Full-time Position

JOB SUMMARY: Oversees the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of security staff. Prepares and conducts training for new hires and current staff including training on workplace searches, drug and alcohol procedures, and related safety and security topics. 

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise, coordinate, assign, review and evaluate the work of the security guards; 
  • CCTV Monitoring;
  • Train new staff members in their job duties, safety procedures and company policies;
  • Establish work schedules and procedures;
  • Initiate disciplinary measures wherever necessary;
  • Proactively responding to and resolving emergency situations and conflicts;
  • Shall perform the same duties as workers supervised;
  • Effectively communicating problems or concerns to management;
  • Prepare and submit progress and other reports;
  • Handle emergency situations;

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • You have excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Physically fit, plus ability to stand for long periods and work both indoors and outdoors in a range of weather conditions;
  • Ongoing performance expectations relating to equity and anti-racism, including ongoing education, confrontation of personal biases, application of the anti-racism policy and equitable decision-making.
  • You can remain calm while working under pressure.
  • 1-2 years of experience in security operations is required;
  • Excellent communication skills in English are required;
  • Completion of secondary school is required;
  • MB Security License – or willing to obtain one;
  • First Aid Certification;
  • Smart Choices certification;
