Position Title: Finance and HR Administrator

Department: Finance / Human Resources
Reports to: Finance Manager
Location: On-site, Winnipeg, MB
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Start Date: As soon as possible
Hours of Work: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Position Summary

The Finance and HR Administrator provides administrative support across both Finance and Human Resources functions. This role is responsible for financial processing, record-keeping, and reconciliation activities, while also supporting HR operations including recruitment coordination, onboarding, and records management.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role ensures accurate, efficient, and confidential administration across both functions.

Key Responsibilities

Finance

  • Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions, including data entry, account coding, and documentation
  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements and other accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Maintain financial records and supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal procedures
  • Support month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations, reporting preparation, and variance follow-up
  • Maintain petty cash, support payroll processing, and assist with financial reporting and reconciliation activities

Human Resources

  • Coordinate recruitment activities, including job postings, interview scheduling, and candidate communication
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, and maintain accurate and confidential employee records
  • Prepare employment documentation and assist with benefits, pension, and leave administration
  • Provide administrative support for performance review processes, training coordination, and health and safety activities
  • Provide administrative support in the implementation, communication, and maintenance of HR policies, procedures, and programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • College diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting or administrative role
  • Experience with financial data entry and reconciliation processes
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Assets:

  • Experience providing administrative support in Human Resources functions
  • Experience in a not-for-profit or arts and cultural organization
  • Familiarity with accounting or HR systems
