Events & Volunteer Administrator

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Deputy Director & CFO, this position is responsible for the coordination and overall administration of annual signature events (ie. Gallery Ball, CRAFTED, and Art in Bloom) as well as the Volunteer Program at WAG-Qaumajuq.

Starting salary: $38,293

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Administer all signature event initiatives
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce successful events
• Organize and maintain budgets, online ticket sales, invoicing, mailings, and registrations for signature events
• Liaise with The Associates; a volunteer committee of the Board
• Source and recruit volunteers
• Arrange for appropriate volunteer training
• Assign responsibilities and coordinate teams of volunteers for large-scale actions
• Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they are satisfied and well-placed
• Compile and maintain event and volunteer statistics, assignments, and contact lists
• Ensure the purpose of the organization, which includes equity, is clearly communicated to support a healthy and rewarding environment
• Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• At least 3 years’ experience in event management and production
• Training in/or willing to be trained in Volunteer Management
• Excellent organizational and customer service skills
• Flexibility, good organizational and problem-solving skills
• Periodic evening and weekend work

ASSETS

• Certificate and/or professional training in event management
• Bilingual (French-English)
• Ability to speak or write an Indigenous language
