Event Lead

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Rentals Coordinator, this position is responsible for supervising all rentals and events at WAGQaumajuq. Working mostly evenings and weekends, the responsibilities include liaising with rental clients, supervising bar staff, and volunteers.  

Wage:
$19.24/hr

Schedule: 
Casual scheduling, per availability and business needs. Weekend and Evening availability required

ASAP

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Set up, supervise and close WAG bars at events 
  • Supervise staff and volunteers at bars and events 
  • Ensure cash controls are followed 
  • Work with public and ensure excellent customer service is followed at all times 
  • Solve problems and issues as they arise 
  • Communicate with supervisor regarding any issues encountered 
  • Ensure that WAG-Qaumajuq policies and procedures are followed 
  • Ongoing performance expectations relating to equity and anti-racism, including ongoing education, confrontation of personal biases, application of the anti-racism policy and equitable decision-making. 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Job Requirements:

  • Able to work weekends and evenings 
  • Good communication skills 
  • Hospitality experience  
  • Smart Choices—Responsible Service Certification 
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs 
  • Bondable  
  • Ability to multitask and work independently 
  • Good problem solver 

Assets:

  • Bilingualism 
  • First Aid Certification 
  • Driver’s License
