Building Maintenance Assistant

Permanent part-time position: 17.5-35 hrs /week

Rate of Pay: $15.30 per hour

JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Assistant under the direction of the Building Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for a variety of tasks related to maintaining, cleaning, improving the WAG buildings and equipment, and assisting custodial team. They perform maintenance functions or identify and initiate services from authorized vendors.  Preparing/maintaining premises for accepting visitors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform maintenance services and minor repairs as required
  • Ensure snow clearing and landscaping needs addressed daily
  • Make certain that tools are properly and safely cleaned and stored
  • Assisting with facility set up for rental events (tables and chairs)
  • Provide best efforts to ensure a positive visitor experience for all facets
  • Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum two years’ experience in a maintenance role
  • Present & maintain MB drivers’ licence with a clear record
  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs unassisted
  • Available any 5 out of 7 mornings per week
